North Wing scaffold goes up

Friday, 2 August 2024

Scaffolding is going up on the North Wing!! Because of the differing ground levels and unique shape of the building this does take a while – approx 1 month – but the team are making great strides now! We expect the scaffolding to remain up on this section of the building for about a year, and during that time these are the things that will happen on the outside of the building:
* Handrails and turrets from the North Wing will be removed and taken away for restoration in conjunction with our heritage architect
* Removal of existing roof tiles to allow access for installation of Warm Roofing System and structural ply on the roof framing
* New roof tiles installed will be of similar shape and colour – ‘Marseille’ tiles
* Repair external building timber work and re-paint using the same colours to match heritage requirements

Check in soon to learn more about the new Warm Roofing System from DPA Architects!
